#TrustedReviewsAwards: Moto G wins Value Smartphone of the Year for the third year running
The Moto G 2015 has come top in the Value Smartphone category at the TrustedReviews Awards 2015, taking the title for the third year in a row.
Beating both the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua and the Huawei Ascend G7, Motorola’s budget device took the award for its great performance, improved camera, and outstanding price.
TrustedReviews Editor Evan Kypreos commented on the win, saying “Motorola have done it again and deservedly so. The Moto G range was always a fantastic budget smartphone option and with the addition of water resistance and the camera improvements, it got even better this year.”
“Although Huawei and Sony also offered some amazing budget phones, the Moto just ticked all the boxes.”
Despite a slight price rise this year, the Moto G 2015 impressed with its numerous upgrades and user-friendly approach to Android. It has won the budget smartphone category for the past two years.
“It will be interesting to see if Motorola can keep this up next year,” added Evan. “It seems to be on a roll.”
Sony’s Xperia M4 Aqua is also waterproof and features a 5-inch HD display, an octa-core processor, a 13-megapixel camera, and 4G support.
The Huawei Ascend G7 also impressed critics this year with its excellent battery life and large screen.
Ultimately though, it wasn’t enough to steal the top spot in the value smartphone category away from consistent champs Motorola.
