Moto G 4G UK release date coming end of June

The Motorola Moto G 4G UK release date has been tipped for the end of June by several online retailers.

Although you can already buy the Moto G 4G in the US directly from Motorola, the 4G version of the successful budget mobile isn’t yet available in the UK.

However, it looks like the wait is over for those waiting to get their hands on the Motorola G 4G.

Several of the online retailers Motorola has outlined as its third-party sellers have now added expected shipping dates to their Moto G 4G pages.

Amazon UK states that the 8GB Moto G 4G will be released on June 30, while another online retailer Clove states that its batch will start shipping on June 23.

The fifth listed third-party seller, Handtec, also lists the earlier June 23 Moto G 4G release date.

Buy Mobiles and Expansys are both still asking consumers to register their interest, without listing any kind of first release date.

What’s interesting is that despite Motorola’s claims, nearly all of the retailers are listing the Moto G 4G UK price as £159.99 (give or take a quid).

When Motorola launched the Moto G 4G back in May, it claimed the handset would only set wannabe owners back £149 in the UK.

“We are going to be launching this in the coming weeks and in the UK it will cost £149, unlocked, no contract”.

Perhaps some of the networks will offer the Moto G 4G for £149 on a PAYG basis, but it seems annoying that the phone is launching for £10 more than originally planned. Such a good 4G phone for under £150 seemed like such a good deal.

The Moto G 4G, like its 3G sibling, comes with a 4.5-inch 720p HD IPS display running on a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM.

It has a 5-megapixel rear camera paired with a 1.3-megapixel front-facing alternative, all powered by a 2070mAh battery.
