Moto 360 2 leaks with fully round display

A render of what appears to be Motorola’s next smartwatch has emerged online, hinting at what we might see from a Moto 360 sequel.

The image, allegedly of the Moto 360 2, which was posted to Chinese social platform Weibo, shows a rounded device very similar to last year’s Moto 360.

The main difference, however, is that the display is entirely rounded and fills out the entire watch face.

The Moto 360 infamously touted a dead portion of its display, purportedly in an effort to keep bezel thickness down.

It seems that Motorola may have overcome this design niggle however, and has seemingly managed to keep the bezels thin too.

It also appears that the mystery wearable now uses a metal clasp mechanism to connect straps to the main body of the device.

This is the third entry in a series of leaks concerning the Moto 360 2, signalling a growing likelihood that Motorola is well under way with cooking up a new smartwatch.

Back in March, Lenovo’s CEO posted a picture of a briefcase full of smartwatches that looked similar to the Moto 360, but with some design changes.

This appeared to be an accident on the exec’s part, but it gave us our first clues as to what the Moto 360 2 might look like.

Then just last week, we heard reports that the Moto 360 was being developed under the ‘Smelt’ codename.

What’s more, it was tipped to carry a screen resolution of 360 x 360 and run Android Wear 5.1 OS.
