Stolen films, ahoy! This week’s most pirated movies revealed

Avast, ye bilge rats and land lubbers! It’s time to talk about what’s hot (and what’s not) in the world of piracy.

TorrentFreak has revealed this week’s top 10 most downloaded movies on BitTorrent, shedding light on the underbelly of online movie watching. And unsurprisingly, geek blockbuster Warcraft takes top spot, finally overtaking X-Men: Apocalypse, which has now dropped to third place.

The list has changed a fair amount from last week’s, with several movies dropping out of the top 10, specifically: Cell, Alice Through The Looking Glass and, most notably, Captain America: Civil War.

Here’s the full list…

Warcraft, based on Blizzard’s epic fantasy video game franchise, released in cinemas on June 10 and, despite negative reviews, has grossed an impressive $377 million globally. That marks it as the highest-grossing video game adaptation of all time, overtaking Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
