Mortal Kombat X named best selling video game of 2015 so far
Mortal Kombat X takes the top spot on the best selling games list as we hit the halfway point of 2015.
We’re already halfway through 2015, which means its nearly Christmas, or something, hooray for presents! But for now, let’s talk about videogames, specifically the most popular ones of the year thus far.
Here are the top ten best selling games of 2015 so far, according a recent list by Fortune:
- Mortal Kombat X
- GTA 5
- Battlefield Hardline
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
- Minecraft
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Dying Light
- NBA 2K15
- The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt
- Super Smash Bros
It is important to note that the sales of each title on this list span across all platforms, and the countdown also takes into account releases from 2014.
It’s no surprise that titles such as GTA 5, Minecraft and Call Duty: Advanced Warfare are dominating the list, given their widespread appeal.

Mortal Kombat X topping the list is hugely unexpected however, more so when the title is yet to release on last generation platforms. New releases such as Dying Light and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have also performed brilliantly, which is great to see.
We were surprised by the presence of Super Smash Bros on the list, it’d be interesting to see how Nintendo’s latest fighter has faired on Wii U this year. The console may be selling miserably here in the UK, but clearly has a passionate number of players.
