Mojang announces Minecraft Story Mode for 2015

Mojang has announced Minecraft Story Mode in conjunction with Telltale Games.

Due out sometime in 2015, Minecraft Story Mode will be a collaboration between Telltale Games and Minecraft developer Mojang.

The news came via a special 8-bit interactive press released called Info Quest II, where you’re tasked to answer a series of questions to find out about Minecraft Story Mode.

“Telltale Games are making a video game about Minecraft for Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, PC, Mac, iOS and Android-based devices,” states character Mojangsta.

“It’s due out some time in 2015, and will be nothing like this interactive press release.”

Just like other Telltale Games titles, including the recent Game of Thrones title, the Minecraft Story Mode will be an original story driven by player choice.

“Though you can’t pre-order this thing quite yet, expect it some time in 2015. It will be released episodically, just like Telltale’s other games,” added Mojansta.
“We’re not intending on creating an official story for Steve, or explaining the world of Minecraft in detail. It will be a cool game.”
Mojang said it is working closely with Telltale and members of the Minecraft community to make the spin-off as “Minecrafty” as it can.

There’s sparse information on the game at present, but Mojang promises we’ll find out more in the new year.
