Misfit teams up with Swarovski for solar-powered wearable
The wearable dons at Misfit just announced a host of sparkling new additions to its body-borne portfolio with the Swarovski Shine collection.
The range features two new wearable products, as well as nine glitzy accessories, all jointly conceived by Misfit and Swarovski.
First up is a clear Swarovski Shine, which will add some ritz to your wrist with its ‘brilliant’ crystal face.
Then there’s the violet Swarovski Shine, which makes use of a patented ‘energy crystal’ technology to charge the device.
This particular shine is the world’s first wireless activity and sleep tracker to make use of solar power to dodge the need for manual charging.
Both devices are good for keeping a tab on the usual fitness metrics, namely steps taken, distance covered, calories burned, sleep quality, and sleep duration.

“Shine is the first truly fashion forward activity tracker, and Swarovski leads the way in the fashion jewellery and accessories market globally,” said a spokesperson.
“This collaboration pushes the envelope as to how beautiful technology can be.”
Misfit has already opened up pre-order availability in the United States, with an on-sale date pegged for this spring in the states, Hong Kong, and China.
UK availability is not confirmed, but we’ll let you know should Misfit out a Blighty release any time soon.
