Misfit Ray could be the most stylish activity tracker yet

The Consumer Electronics Show is chock with wearables, but Misfit reckons its new tracker is the “most versatile” yet.

Misfit has announced a brand new activity wearable – the Misfit Ray Fitness and Sleep Monitor.

The new device is the latest addition to the company’s “design-forward” wearable range.

To that end, Misfit has opted for a chic cylindrical aluminium body that can be worn on the wrist or as a necklace.

The tracker measures 12mm in diameter and is 38mm long – “Ray can be elegant or sporty, sensual or bold, striking or subtle”, apparently.

But it’s not all about looks. The Ray tracks activity and sleep with a 3-axis accelerometer, and comes with an integrated vibration motor for “nuanced user feedback”.

It’s also got a single multicolour LED eye, which can notify you of texts and calls. The motor also works as a silent alarm.

We designed Ray to be your most valuable accessory,” explains Tim Golnik, Misfit’s VP of Product and Design.

He continues: “Ray’s design distills the essential performance of our wearables and opens up a world of style possibilities.”

Unsurprisingly, the Misfit Ray is compatible with Misfit’s custom-built Misfit Link software, which lets you turn the wearable into a remote control.

This means you can use the device to turn on lights, communication wit friends, change music, take selfies, and more.

The Misfit Ray is available to pre-order right now for $99.99.

It’s on offer in Rose Gold and Carbon Black colour options, and will be up for grabs in retail locations globally starting Spring 2016.
