Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition builds on success at top of UK All Format Gaming Chart

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has spent another week at the top of the UK All Format Gaming Chart, building its success for a third week running.

With Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition spending a third week at the top of the UK All Format Gaming Chart, it marks the longest unbroken period a Microsoft title has topped the chart since Forza Motorsport 2 back in 2007.

Climbing up to number 2 for the week ending August 10 2013 is frequent top 10 entry FIFA 13. Rising from fourth place last week, the game has seen a sudden sale surges due to the impending Premier Football season starting next week.

The Smurfs 2 from Ubisoft is at number three this week from fifth, while at number four is the highest new entry Tales of Xillia.

The new JRGP title from Namco Bandai isn’t a hugely well-known game here in the UK but the Namco Tales series of games is certainly popular worldwide, boosting the entry position of Tales of Xillia.

Nintendo 3DS title Animal Crossing: New Leaf dropped from third to fifth, followed by previous marathon chart topper The Last of Us at six, down from number two.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 climbs one place to number seven, swapping places with Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes at number eight.

At number 9 this week is Tomb Raider and at number 10 is Assassin’s Creed 3, with both titles retaining the same position in the UK All Format Gaming Chart for the second week running.

Unfortunately for Ubisoft Montreal, Far Cry 3 has dropped out of the UK All Format Gaming Chart top 10 down to 11th place from sixth the previous week.
