Minecraft finally coming to Wii U?

Minecraft may be about to make its long-awaited Wii U debut, the first time it’s appeared on a Nintendo console.

The block-based world creation game may be about to land on a Nintendo console for the first time ever.

A shrewd-eyed NeoGAF user has spotted a listing on the PEGI site for the “Minecraft: Wii U Edition”.

It’s the first ever mention of such a port, but it may well be that this is one of the big announcements due at tonight’s Nintendo Direct.

The broadcast is scheduled for 10PM GMT tonight, November 12.

With Wii U sales still uninspiring to say the least, the Minecraft port will be quite the boon for the console.

Most people are now holding all their hopes for the upcoming Nintendo NX console, which is due to be officially revealed next year.

Hopefully, a Wii U Minecraft could open doors for a 3DS version of the game.

The game already does ridiculously well on touchscreen devices thanks to its iOS and Android versions.
