Microsoft’s Surface Pro site says “it’s easy to ditch your MacBook”

If you hadn’t noticed, Microsoft is pretty confident about the new Surface Book laptop; so much so that the company believes Apple MacBook users can be lured to join the opposition.

The impressive Windows 10 laptop goes on sale today and, to accompany the release, Microsoft has launched a micro-site designed to extol the ease of transfer for MacBook users.

The company writes: “We want you to feel confident switching from Mac to Surface Book.

“Computers, and the memories you keep within them, are incredibly personal. We know moving these memories from one platform to another can be nerve-racking and learning new software can seem daunting. We want to make the transition as easy as possible. If you currently have a Mac and have questions about switching to Microsoft Surface Book and Windows 10, we designed this site to help get you started.”

From there the company offers links to all manner of support articles relating to Windows 10 basics and moving files to the new operating system. Then, it gets more specific – there are answers to hypothetical questions from MacBook users and tips for working with iPhone, iCloud and iTunes.

“Rest easy, your new Surface Book and iPhone will go great together,” the company says.

Microsoft has due reason to feel confident on Surface Book launch day. The design offers the same premium feel as the MacBook range, while
Microsoft states the Surface book offers double the speed of the MacBook
Pro.

Meanwhile, the unique hinge and touchscreen offers the laptop/tablet combination that Apple continues to shy away from with its MacBook and iPad strategy.

Can you see yourself breaking the ‘once you go Mac, you never go back’ edict? Is the Surface Book the machine to tempt you? Share your thoughts below.
