Microsoft Lumia 550 budget Windows 10 phone leaks

A new Lumia smartphone has seemingly leaked onto the internet, possibly revealing the first entry-level Windows 10 phone.
Microsoft is set to announce the first Windows 10 phones at an October 6 event, but these are expected to be flagship phones with high-end specs.
Given that the Windows 10 OS that runs on smartphones is essentially the same as the Windows 10 that runs on your desktop computer, many have been eager to see what the OS looks like running on relatively low-end mobile hardware.
That information may have been provided by Russian website OneTile, which has posted pictures and specs for the Lumia 550. These have since been confirmed by WMPoweruser.
As you can see, the Lumia 550 doesn’t mark a radical departure from existing polycarbonate-heavy Lumia designs. It’ll be available in blue, black, red, and white.
On the spec front, it apparently features a 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED display, a modest 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor backed by 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage backed by a microSD slot.

It’s a decidedly entry-level phone, then, and it confirms just how scalable that Windows 10 OS really is.
Besides the high-end Lumia 950 and 950 XL, Microsoft is expected to use its October 6 event to launch a new Surface Pro tablet and a new Microsoft Band 2 wearable.
