Non-shock as Microsoft apologises for hella cringe ‘hey bae interns’ email

Microsoft has issued a statement apologising for its nauseating attempt to bait millennial interns into hanging out with them on a Monday night.
Sent to Microsoft University interns by a recruiter known as ‘Kim’, the email invitation was more embarrassing than any Dad joke you can imagine, promising the ‘bae’ kids plenty of ‘dranks’ and ‘hella noms’ in aid of ‘getting lit’ on a Monday night over a relaxing game of beer pong.
All of which is no doubt par for the course in frats and sororities all over the States, but cloud software specialist (see the discrepancy here?) Microsoft wasn’t quite as eager to add the 20-something slang to its next relational database.
Issuing a statement to Gizmodo, the company said:
““The email was poorly worded and not in keeping with our values as a company. We are looking into how this occurred and will take appropriate steps to address it.”
In other words, Kim will probably want to spruce up their CV shortly, because they’re getting hella sacked.
What’s doubly hilarious is it’s not even Microsoft’s best gaffe of late – the firm employed go-go dancers at an Xbox party, and also managed to develop a chatbot well-versed in racist hate speech.
Maybe a stiff drank is called for after all?
