Microsoft accidentally sent someone the Xbox One before it was even announced
Back in March 2013, Microsoft accidentally sent an early Xbox One unit to a customer who ordered a Netbook online.
25 year old Jia Li ordered the $400-500 device from the Microsoft Store, expecting a small, sleek portable computer, but instead got an unannounced games console.
Speaking to Business Insider UK, Jia Li described the system as “something I’ve never seen before” which was covered in a form of security tape likely to keep it out of situations like this.
Leaks happen, and are relatively common in the gaming industry, but it’s hard to believe something this huge didn’t end up online back in 2013.

Jia Li received the console almost two months before it was officially unveiled, and a staggering eight months until it would appear in shops.
Known by the codenames Durango and Kryptos during development, the Xbox One we know today is vastly different to the machine that launched in 2013. Kinect is no more, and the Xbox One S is a smaller, more efficient machine.
