Matrox Announces TripleHead2Go ‘Digital Edition’

Put a little DVI expansion into your life...

If you’re a graphics designer/supreme geek then the Matrox TripleHead2Go series should already be top of your shopping list, but now with this at the pinnacle…

The name is going to rather spoil my thunder but the new TripleHead2Go ‘Digital Edition’ means for the first time the line can *you guessed it* offer a digital-to-digital data connection path.

It works by connecting the dual-link DVI output of a compatible notebook, desktop or workstation to three digital monitors enabling a potentially dizzying 3840 x 1024 WIDEscreen resolution. If that weren’t enough, however – even though I can’t see how it wouldn’t be?! – the device can also operate in ‘DualHead’ mode to create a 3840 x 1200 resolution when connected to two 1920 x 1200 capable displays.

Now having immense width wouldn’t be much good if Matrox didn’t know how to use it (in quieter moments I’ve said similar statements to myself) but with inbuilt ‘Surround Design’ and ‘Surround Gaming’ functionality the TH2G DE can automatically spread everything from CAD software to gaming across these displays while maintaining perfect proportion. For gamers it means jaw dropping peripheral vision and for designers it means you can think up really long poles… or something.

Furthermore, exclusive to TH2G DE is ‘Monitor Bezel Management’ a new feature which automatically compensates for the part of an image hidden behind the bezel of a monitor and realigns it perfectly across each display.

Available in Q2, the TH2G DE will come with an RRP of £185 plus VAT. If both your wallet and your desk can stretch far enough I think you know what to do…
