Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has announced his new project for 2016: become Iron Man.
Well, sort of. The billionaire revealed his ‘personal challenge’ for this year will be to build an artificially intelligent assitant, a la “Jarvis in Iron Man”.
In a Facebook post, Mr Zuckerberg details how he will be ‘exploring what technology is already out there’ before attempting to teach the AI to understand his voice so it can control his home.
“I’ll teach it to let friends in by looking at their faces when they ring the doorbell,” he explains.
“I’ll teach it to let me know if anything is going on in Max’s room that I need to check on when I’m not with her.

“On the work side, it’ll help me visualize data in VR to help me build better services and lead my organizations more effectively.”
The AI assistant will eventually be able to control everything from music and lights to temperature.
Previously, Mr Zuckerberg has taken on yearly challenges such as learning Mandarin and reading two books a month.
He says he will be sharing his progress on the AI assistant throughout the coming year.

The announcement comes as his company works to build an AI assistant through its messaging app.
