Mad Glass is bulky rival to Google Glass
Google Glass might be on hold for now, but here’s an alternative.
It’s called Mad Glass, and just like Google’s offering, it’s a pair of connected smart glasses that promises to do everything your phone can and more.
For starters,
It’s bulkier than Google Glass – the arm looks particularly chunky. It comes in silver, titanium and rose gold finishes.
Like Google Glass, it uses augmented reality to superimpose virtual elements onto your view of the real world. You can even make your own augmented reality apps using its AR+ Cloud software.
One of its main selling points is that it’ll be cheaper than Google Glass. It will cost just $950AUD, which works out as £450. Which is less than half what Google Glass cost to developers.

Google Glass’ launch was more of a test than a full rollout, and we have no doubt we haven’t seen the last of Google’s tech specs. Mad Glass runs Android, so would seem to be on a similar footing as Google’s pair. But we’d still rather wait for the next iteration of Glass and see how it fares.
Mad Glass has raised over $21,000 AUD of a $100,000 AUD goal. If successful, it will ship in September.
