Lumino turns any light into a wake-up light

We all know the feeling: as soon as your alarm goes you want to throw it out of the window. You could buy a wake-up light, but they’re pretty pricey. Buy Lumino, however, and you can turn your regular bedside light into a wake-up lamp.
Wake-up lights help you wake up more naturally by lighting up gradually, simulating sunrise. As long as your bedside light is dimmable, just plug Lumino into it and it’ll do the same, helping you get out of bed without hurling your alarm clock anywhere.
It syncs with an app on your phone over Bluetooth.
The app works with iOS and Android, and lets you set a schedule for the whole week, so you don’t have to open it and fiddle every day.

It comes with a wooden stand too. Prop your handset in it and it’ll show the time on-screen, replacing your alarm clock.
Your correspondent hasn’t used a wake-up light, so can’t comment on their effectiveness. But we would assume a light with a long and gradual dim is best, to avoid any sudden brightness.
If it hits its $30,000 CAD funding goal, it will ship in October.
