LoveFilm streaming adds NBCUniversal TV content

Movie streaming specialist LoveFilm has announced a partnership with NBCUniversal that will offer subscribers on-demand access to hundreds of episodes of iconic American TV series.

Adding to the service’s already blossoming array of content, LoveFilm members will now be able to enjoy access to a selection of critically acclaimed American shows including comedies such as the US version of the Office, or the award-winning 30 Rock starring Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin.

Providing a drop of nostalgia and in a bid to satisfy guilty pleasures, Amazon owned LoveFilm has revealed that classic 80s TV series including David Hasselhoff’s Knight Rider are also set to join the on-demand roster, letting you revel in the disapproving electronic voice of KITT. Sci-fi fans will also be pleased to hear that all four series of Heroes are now part of the LoveFilm ‘Instant’ service, available across 175 different platforms including PS3, iPad and Smart TV.

“This deal with NBCUniversal strengthens our exceptional and unrivalled on-demand TV offer,” said Jim Buckle, Managing Director at LoveFilm. “Our content, unbeatable value for money and the instant nature of our service make us the first choice for people who want the best possible entertainment experience.”

This latest TV series streaming deal follows a number of other LoveFilm partnerships that include ABC, BBC and ITV who all provide content to the ever-expanding LoveFilm library available via LoveFilm ‘Instant’.

President of NBCUniversal International TV Distribution and Universal Networks International, Belinda Menedez added: “We’re excited to announce this partnership with LoveFilm and proud of the NBCUniversal titels represented in this agreement. LoveFilm customers will now have access to the classic NBCU series they know and love, as well as the opportunity to discover our other high-calibre programming.”
