Dyson hoping to clean up on the UK high street

Beloved British electronics brand Dyson will open its first ever dedicated UK retail store on London’s Oxford Street, on Wednesday.

The new flagship store, which will sit opposite Selfridges on London’s most famous shopping street.

According to a Guardian report, the the Dyson Demo store will offer 65 products which can be purchased in person or reserved to be delivered to your door.

Visitors will even be able to have their hair styled in a salon dedicated to extolling the virtues of the £299 Supersonic Hairdryer.

Elsewhere, those pondering a new vacuum cleaner will be able to put the various contraptions like the V8 Absolute to the test with 64 different types of dust, dirt and debris.

The store, which joins locations in Tokyo, Moscow, Paris and Jakarta, will provide users with opportunities to chat to staff and suss out which cleaner is most suited to their humble abode.

The Dyson Demo store seems to be aiming to mimic the Apple Store experience, where consumer tech fans can get their hands on the latest and greatest products with help from trained experts.

Dyson’s son Jake said: “The Dyson Demo encourages people to be hands-on. The Supersonic salon introduces hair science to the high street for the first time, and nowhere else can [customers] choose between 64 types of dust and debris to test a vacuum cleaner.

“We’re also able to have the cleanest air in London on one of its most polluted streets by having our air purifying products in here.”
