Premiere accessory with a premiere price.
Sure, Guitar Hero’s standard peripherals are pretty nice to use and they’re not too expensive, but they don’t have that ‘real life’ feel to them that some of us would like our peripherals to exhibit. Enter Logitech and its Premiere Guitar Hero Wireless Guitar Controller – pricey, but wow does it look worth every penny.
As promised when first hinted at, the Premiere guitar is definitely a nice looking bit of kit. A rosewood fingerboard, wooden neck, metal frets, rotating tuning pegs (not that they do anything) and a tasty crimson finish to the body all contribute to an overall awesome design. Just don’t expect buying one to make you any better at Guitar Hero than you already are.
The controller is compatible with any console with a USB port and is powered by two AA batteries. As the internal hardware is identical to the plastic controller, battery life should be equally good.
Sadly at its $249.99 (~£155) MSRP, Logitech’s Premiere Guitar Hero Wireless Guitar Controller isn’t for everyone. I think I have the first entry on my Christmas list for this year, though just in case you’re reading this, relatives.
