Proposes to keep laptops both cool and ergonomically positioned.
Logitech has added another pair of notebook-cooling accessories – the Logitech Cooling Pad N100 and Logitech Notebook Riser N110 – to its collection. The two follow in the same vein as the Comfort Lapdesk for Notebooks, offering both a cooler and more ergonomic position for those suffering from discomfort as a result of long-term laptop use.
The N110 features a ‘low power’ USB fan to improve air circulation, also sporting a slotted surface – allowing that air to reach the underside of a notebook resting upon it. The placement of the air intake at the rear isn’t exactly E=MC(sup)2(/sup) class thinking, but it will leave the N110’s fan unobstructed and, apparently, “the enclosed, durable construction protects the internal fan from dust and damage.” It’s a bit hard to talk up what is essentially a piece of plastic with holes and a fan in it, but a $29.99 (~£22) MSRP means Logitech isn’t exactly taking the proverbial with its pricing.
Likewise simple in its premise is the N110, which as the ‘Notebook Riser’ name suggests, purports to place any notebook up to 15.4in in size in a suitable ergonomic position. The stand can be locked at a 20- 30- or 40-degree angle, the rubber-footed base can be swivelled if so desired and the whole arrangement is collapsible aiding portability. The N110 will be available in May for $39.99 (£~28) – but apparently only in the US for now.
