Linky is a foldable electric longboard for your commute
There’s not much you can do to speed up your train or bus. But you can make the walking part either side a lot quicker, and more fun.
Introducing Linky. It’s an electric longboard that folds up to fit in a backpack, so you can take it with you to speed up your commute.
It weighs just 4.9kg, making it one of the lightest electric longboards available. But
The wheels are 83mm in diameter, making them big enough to handle any obstacles in their path. Up to a point, anyway.
It’s powered by a lithium battery that charges 85 per cent in just half an hour. When completely juiced, it has a range of nine miles, which should see most people to work and back. It also has a top speed of 19mph, which is nippy enough for a longboard.

You control it using a remote control that comes with a strap so you’ll never drop it.
It’s over a third of a way to its €100,000 goal and still has 44 days to go. To get one, pledge €899 (£692) and it can be yours on an early bird. If successful, it’ll ship in December.
