LG has announced a new smart home hub which will be on show at next week’s CES show in Las Vegas.

The LG SmartThinQ hub, which features a built-in speaker unit and a 3.5-inch screen, can be used to monitor and control a host of smart appliances.

The likes of washing machines, refrigerators, ovens, air conditioners can be synced with the devices.

Conventional appliances are also compatible if they’re hooked up to SmartThinQ sensors via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The data is shown on the LG screen and can also be announced using the speaker.

The speaker also comes in handy for streaming music from a smartphone, while reminders will also be played through the SmartThinQ device. Thousands of free stations are also available through iHeartRadio.
