Decide what add-ons make the perfect model, for you.
Around this time last year I wrote about the modu modular phone – a technology widely embraced as the greatest step forward in modern handsets. I wasn’t convinced in the slightest however and described it as “a brave idea – but I’m certain history will also prove it to be a stupid one”. Now once again this shows you have an astute news editor, so what about this…?
The ‘VX9600’ according to Howard Forums is an attempt by LG to make the modular mobile phone popular once and for all. My response? You guessed it – I call foul.
Despite featuring what appears to be a large touchscreen of unknown size and resolution, the VX9600 doesn’t look to have a lot going for it. As a standalone handset it seems perfectly mediocre but trying to separate it from the pack is a modular QWERTY keyboard. Smart? I hear a significant number say NO. You either embrace the virtual keyboard or you do not and you make choice occasionally.
Never have I heard a BlackBerry owner complain about the lack of a touchscreen or the iPhone fanatic obsess about a Qwerty keyboard, so clearly someone is wrong. User feedback strongly suggests it is the concept of convenience but just how convenient will it be? Time and patience will tell…
Until then let’s enjoy the impending Barcelona-eque world conference and pray this LG mess gets buried. Of course I could be proved wrong but I have a pretty good TR predictive track record and I say ”no chance”.
LG prove me wrong. Do it!
