LG Optimus F3 leaks as 4-inch budget 4G handset

LG looks set to bolster its budget smartphone collection, with the LG Optimus F3 leaking as a 4-inch Android handset with 4G LTE connectivity options.

A basic 4-inch Android handset that will not give the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4 any sleepless nights, the LG Optimus F3 has appeared following LG’s MWC confirmation that its new Optimus F range would target the wallet-friendly end of the market.

Leaked via PhoneArena courtesy of an @evleaks Tweet, the LG Optimus F3, also known as the LG LS720, appears to be heading for launch with a basic 4-inch WVGA in tow and Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS at its core.

While an unspecific dual-core processor might underwhelm, the handset’s claimed 2,460mAh Lithium-Ion battery sounds very impressive, and is an inclusion that should keep the currently unconfirmed handset running well beyond the single day hump that has troubled many recent smartphones.

Manufacturing partner for the most recent Nexus handset, the Google Nexus 4, LG looks set to build its smartphone foundation in the coming months, with the LG Optimus G2 recently confirmed as heading for release in Q3 later this year.

Until then, the LG Optimus F3 looks set to been the Korean manufacturer’s next handset offering, with the latest leaks claiming the device will be available on the Sprint network in the US and will be “priced aggressively.” There is currently no word on a UK arrival.
