LG Launches M7WD ‘Digital TV Monitor’ Series

Small but still well featured.

Sure, we’d all like 103in plasma TVs in our bedrooms, but unless it turns out I didn’t lose the lottery again last week I’m not going to be getting one any time soon. In the mean time, then, something along the lines of LG’s digital TV monitor range will have to suffice. One of the M7WD series, perhaps.

Available in 22in and 19in sizes, the M7WDs boast 20,000:1 ‘digital fine’ (as good a euphemism for dynamic as ever I heard) contrast ratio. Both TVs also sport 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolutions and 5ms response times.

Connectivity comes courtesy SCART, DVI and, of course, HDMI, enabling connection of a PC or a Blu-ray player with equal ease. While 3W speakers won’t impress to, say, HTS6100 levels, they should provide enough power for general TV watching, or the occasional PS3 game.

Pricing isn’t detailed, but should be similar to other Full HD 22in displays, such as the ViewSonic VX2260wm and BenQ E200HD for the larger model. The 19in model’s likely cost is anyone’s guess.
