LG G2 Mini UK release date set for May/June says manufacturer
LG has spoken out on the upcoming LG G2 Mini UK release date, telling TrustedReviews that the sub-sized handset will launch in May or June.
Although having been formally unveiled in the build up to MWC 2014 back in February, the LG G2 Mini is still months away from hitting UK retailers. This early summer arrival will see the LG G2 spinoff launch after the flagship Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 go on sale.
Speaking during the LG InnoFest 2014 convention this week, an official LG spokesperson told TrustedReviews that
Remaining cagey on concrete details the manufacturer added that the phone will be priced “accordingly to the mid-range market.”
Although no more precise dates have been offered, the manufacturer’s confirmation of a May/June arrival is the first time LG has committed to a date for the 4.3-inch handset’s arrival. The phone is to begin a rollout to smaller European markets this month.
Dropping half an inch on its flagship big brother, the LG G2 Mini plays fast and loose with its naming, boasting a still sizeable 4.7-inch display with a disappointingly low 960 x 540 pixel resolution.
Powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM, the Android 4.4 run G2 Mini is further enhanced by a 2440mAh Lithium-Polymer battery and 8GB of internal storage.
With an 8-megapixel rear-mounted snapper, the LG G2 Mini specs sheet is rounded off by a secondary, 1.3-megapixel forward-facing camera.
