LG G2 cases unveiled ahead of next week’s phone launch

Ahead of next week’s LG G2 launch event, the South Korean manufacturer has officially unveiled the first LG G2 case, dubbed the QuickWindow.

Jumping the gun on its next flagship phone, LG is looking to generate interest in its HTC One and iPhone 5 rival ahead of launch, unveiling the LG G2 QuickWindow case as the first of a range of first-party of accessories set to be bestowed on the handset at launch.

Having fallen behind in the smartphone stakes, the LG G2 is set to be given its formal outing at a dedicated New York City launch event next Wednesday, August 7.

Seemingly taking more than a few design hints from the Samsung Galaxy S4 compatible Samsung S View Cover, the LG G2 QuickWindow case features a cut-out window which, when closed over the display, shows a selection of content options.

With the revised screen options triggered by a magnet in the case, users of the G2 will be able to choose what is visible through this window, with incoming calls, music apps, weather, fitness updates and the time having all been shown. The LG G2 case will be available in seven colours at launch, with the usual black and white options added to with blue, purple, pink, yellow and mint green versions.

“LG’s newest premium accessory delivers practical and stylish options while protecting the smartphone, which for many consumers is a significant investment,” Dr Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG’s mobile division said.

“Our smartphone designers have in mind the type of case they’d like to see on their designs. So it made a lot of sense for LG designers to share with our customers their vision of the perfect accessory.”
