LG announces G4c and G4 Stylus
LG has announced two low-cost variants of its LG G4 flagship, the LG G4c and LG G4 Stylus.
Despite the names, however, neither of these phones bears more than a superficial similarity to the high-specced LG G4.
LG might claim that “both exceptionally priced devices share many of the same high-end user experience features found in the LG G4,” but that’s not strictly the case from a hardware perspective.
The LG G4 Stylus, for example, may sound like it should be a larger but equally capable alternative, much like the Samsung Galaxy Note is to the Galaxy S range.
While its does indeed have a 5.7-inch display, though, it doesn’t pack the QHD resolution or Quantum Display technology of the LG G4. Rather, it’s a simple 1080p IPS unit, providing a significantly lower 258ppi pixel density and (we presume) much less of the G4’s signature pop.
The processor appears to be a less capable “1.2GHz quad-core” example, and the camera too is a less capable 13-megapixel unit.
Of course, the main feature here is the presence of LG’s Rubberdium (no, really) stylus for easy note taking and drawing. So there’s that.
As for the LG G4c, that’s a smaller and significantly cheaper alternative to the LG G4. It has a 5-inch 1080p display, a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, and an 8-megapixel camera.

Both phones have a meagre 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage backed by a microSD slot. Still, both run on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Both budget smartphones are set to launch in “key strategic markets” over the coming weeks. No specific timing or pricing details have been mentioned.
