Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC launched

Lenovo has unveiled the Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon an all-in-one touchscreen PC that folds flat and includes a battery to make it an enormous tablet.

Set to take on the likes of the Apple iMac and Dell XPS One 27, Lenovo hopes the Horizon will tempt consumers by combining the family-friendly portable nature of a tablet with the power of a fully-fledged PC.

“Horizon makes personal computing interpersonal computing with shared, collaborative experiences among several people […] Now many people can enjoy different photos, music and video on the same screen, and they can play games with our special accessories that blend physical and digital interaction,” said Peter Hortensius, president, Product Group, Lenovo.

Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC Specs
While Lenovo may be hoping to shake up the PC market with its tablet crossover, the size of this machine will certainly limit its potential. With a 27in screen, 7.7Kg weight and 1.1in thickness, it’s not going to be something the children can play with on the sofa. However, when folded flat on a table or living room floor its 10-finger sensing touchscreen will be able to offer multi-user potential.

For when in this configuration Lenovo has created a custom interface called Aura, which offers up quick access to multi-user tailored apps such as educational and fun apps for children.

When needed for more productive purposes the Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon offers up Windows 8 running on Intel Core i7 processors, Nvidia GeForce 620m graphics and up to 1TB hard drives.
