Kirby: Planet Robobot stomping onto Nintendo 3DS this summer

The 3DS exclusive was revealed during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, and will launch with a new range of Kirby-themed amiibo.

Kirby will still be able to swallow up enemies in signature fashion, but will now also have access to a range of giant mech suits.

These can be used to battle larger enemies and crash through obstacles – and, of course, they’re pink and fabulous.

You’ll be able to play with friends in Kirby Clash, a four-player battle mode where you can team up to take on a selection of bosses to earn trophies.

Kirby: Planet Robobot will launch on 10 June alongside a selection of new amiibo figures.

The new amiibo will include Kirby, Meta Knight, Waddle Dee, and King Dedede. By using compatible amiibo you can unlock special abilities for Kirby to use in-game.

Kirby isn’t limited to his own amiibo either, with select amiibo providing our protagonist with unique and unexpected powers.

For example, Mario will give Kirby a fireball, while Link Kirby wields a sword.
