Kickstarter Android app goes live, three years after iOS
The market leader in crowdfunding has finally landed on Google’s mobile OS…
Kickstarter has released an app for Android, which is now live on the Google Play store.
It’s been a long-time coming, of course – the Kickstarter iOS app launched three years ago.
The app works in much the same way as the desktop version of Kickstarter.
Users can peruse Kickstarter’s ever-growing roster of projects, and back any that they’re fond of.

There’s also an activity feed that lets you see what your friends of backing – and tells your friends what you’ve splashed cash on.
The only real difference between the app and desktop versions is that project creators can’t launch or manage campaigns on mobile.
However, Kickstarter will add this functionality “soon”, according to a report by The Verge.
The app is available to download now, requires Android 4.1 or later, and weighs in at 6.3MB.
