Here’s when Jessica Jones season 2 lands on Netflix

Marvel’s Jessica Jones is back for round two on Netflix, with the second season following the backside-kicking private investigator confirmed for a March 8 debut.

And it looks like it’s back to business for the pseudo heroine as she looks to continue with her private eye work while figuring out why she has superhuman strength, likely encountering other New York characters from the Marvel universe, as seen in the Marvel’s Defenders series also on Netflix.

Following the positive reception the first Netflix Marvel series Daredevil received, the first series of Jessica Jones made its debut on Netflix in November 2015 and followed the story of Jones, portrayed by Krysten Ritter of Breaking Bad and Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 fame, and her battle with mind-controlling sociopath Killgrave, played my former Dr Who David Tennant.

The critical acclaim the first series received essentially meant Netflix had the green light to follow it up with a sequel. But the streaming service come show maker was focussed on other Marvel spin-off shows, such as Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Daredevil season two.

But thankfully, Netflix has come around to delve back into Jessica Jones’ story line.

The trailer below mixes snippets of plot intrigue, character exploration, and gritty violence and intimidation, with Jones seemingly questioning her power in the slightly off-hand fashion her character has.

With the debut of Marvel’s The Punisher last month, Netflix is now awash with series that explore the minor characters in the Marvel universe, which could put the second series of Jessica Jones against some stiff viewing competition.

But we’re hoping Netflix has managed to keep the same high-quality production values and story telling of the first series to make the sure Jessica Jones season two is the follow-up Marvel fans have been waiting for.
