The recently-announced Jawbone UP3 fitness tracker will not be sitting under Christmas trees in the US following confirmation shipping has been delayed until next year.
After opening pre-orders on November 7, the company offered an estimated shipping time frame of 6-7 weeks, which would have ensured customers received the wristband in time to gift on December 25.
Now, the shipping estimate has slipped to 8-9 weeks and Jawbone has conceded pre-order customers won’t get their wristbands before the end of 2014.
Speaking to Wareable, the company also said the 8-9 week timeline only applies to those ordering the UP3 now rather than those who’ve already pre-ordered. Wareable also received word from readers claiming to have been offered a free Jawbone UP Move or a $40 credit to compensate them for the delay.

The Jawbone UP3 is the company’s most advanced wristband yet, building on the foundations of the popular Jawbone UP24 and incorporating many of the most requested features. The UP3 has a built-in heart-rate monitor, is waterproof and has improved sensors allowing it to identify non-step-based activities like weight training.
