Jabra wants to put a personal trainer in your ears

“One more set. Drive! Harder! You call that a push-up?!” not the screams of a roid-raged personal trainer but the possible future of sports headphones.
Getting things started in a less aggressive fashion, Bluetooth audio specialist Jabra has unveiled the Jabra Sport Coach, a pair of wireless headphones with integrated coaching for your more hardcore gym sessions.
Having previously given fitness buffs live in-ear heart-rate feedback with the Jabra Sport Pulse, the company is now looking to take things to the next level.
When paired with the accompanying Jabra Life Sport coaching app, this data is used to guide you through your next set of reps, or simply give you that much needed morale boost when your legs are cramping and your enthusiasm waning.
Letting you plan, track and analyse your workout sessions, the Jabra Sports Coach buds are able to differentiate between 40 different exercises, including weights, squats and cowbell work.
What’s more, when not beasting you to push harder, the wireless headphones should offer impressive music playback thanks to integrated Dolby sound technology.

“For sports, we are committed to delivering innovative audio solutions designed to enhance the training experience for fitness enthusiasts,” said Jabra CEO, René Svendsen-Tune.
He added: “We started by specifically targeting runners and now we are taking the next step by delivering a solution optimised for cross trainers. We see clear possibilities for in-ear audio solution combined with biometrics.”
Intended to hit retailers in the coming weeks, the Jabra Sports Coach headphones will set wannabe owners back £149.99.
