Is Apple about to release a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro?
So far this year, the Apple hype as been focused mainly on the iPhone 7, MacBook Pro updates, and iOS 10.
So a new report suggesting the company is preparing to unveil a new iPad Pro, along with a refresh for the entire range, comes as somewhat of a surprise.
Reputed KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, speaking to Apple Insider, claims Tim Cook and co. are working on a new 10.5-inch variant of the Pro tablet range, which will join the current 9.7 and 12.9-inch offerings.
What’s more, he claims Apple will introduce refreshed versions of the two existing variants, while the 12.9-inch and new 10.5-inch models will apparently house Apple’s A10X processor.

The as yet unannounced A10X chip is a variant of the upcoming A10 chip, which will almost certainly power the iPhone 7.
And it doesn’t stop there.
There has been talk of Apple making the switch to OLED displays on its phones and tablets for some time, particularly in relation to next year’s expected iPhone 8.
The company already uses the display technology in its Apple Watch, and numerous recent patents have hinted at a rollout to other devices.

It should be said that there’s no way to verify Kuo’s claims, so take this latest report with due caution. The tipster certainly has a decent record when it comes to these things but it’s very early days at this point.
Whatever the reality may be, Apple has clearly been working on some innovative display designs which could easily be implemented on upcoming iPads, as well as iPhones – including foldable screens and curved edge displays.
Could we see a curved-edge OLED iPad Pro in 2018? It’s looking more and more likely.
