Iron Man-themed Galaxy S6 Edge officially ‘coming soon’

Remember those Iron Man-themed Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge renders that got you so excited recently? Well, it looks like the handset is about to become a reality.

Teasing the Marvel-themed phone, Samsung has taken to Twitter to suggested that the Avengers tie-in handset is ‘coming soon’ in all its red and gold glory to select markets.

Showing off an image of an S6 Edge marked box with the Avengers logo and a large Iron Man mask, the accompanying Tweet stated: “Coming Soon (*Detailed availability in markets may differ by region).”

Despite getting avid Sammy and Marvel fans a little hot under the collar, further details on the phone’s launch and availability are still to be confirmed.

Now, don’t expect this phone to come packing any jet thrusters, armour, hidden weaponry or a heads-up display. Instead, it is expected to be a stock S6 Edge in a new Iron Man inspired paint job.

There will likely be the odd wallpaper or two thrown in for good measure, but that’s where the differences will stop.

Like its traditional sibling, the Iron Man S6 Edge is expected to adopt a 5.1-inch 2560 x 1440 pixel QHD display which curves around both the phone’s left and right-hand edges.

This will be paired with a 16-megapixel, OIS-enhanced primary camera, a 64-bit Exynos chip and 3GB of RAM.

This is largely speculative at this stage, however. Tantalising tease aside, Samsung has yet to confirm detailed plans for its spin-off device.
