iPhone X owners complain that their £1000 handset can’t accept incoming calls

A number of iPhone X owners have taken to Apple’s Support Forums to complain that their £1,000 smartphone can’t accept incoming calls.
Customers are complaining that they are unable to answer incoming calls on their iPhone X because the screen doesn’t turn on for several seconds when the handset starts ringing, leaving the ‘accept’ and ‘decline’ buttons nowhere to be seen.
“Whenever I receive an incoming call in my iPhone X, ringtone starts but the display comes on after 6-8 seconds,” one user explained. “Whenever I restart my iPhone X the problem is solved and after 15-20 calls the problem starts again.”

Apple told The Financial Times that it’s aware of the issue, though it didn’t cast a light on what’s causing it or when it will be fixed. All we know is that it’s “looking into” the reports posted on its Support Forums – some of which date back to December.
Last week, it was revealed that Apple’s software engineering chief Craig Federighi decided to bench the impending visual overhaul for iOS, which was expected to debut in iOS 12, so it can focus its attention on addressing performance issues.
