iPhone SE tipped to have iPhone 6S camera

The forthcoming iPhone SE could be just as accomplished in the photographic department as the current iPhone 6S.
Apple is holding an event on March 21, which is expected to see the launch of the iPhone SE. This promised to be a compact and (slightly more) affordable spiritual successor to the iPhone 5C.
However, one component that Apple won’t be compromising on with the iPhone SE is the iPhone SE’s camera. At least, not if a rumour published on Apple Insider is to be believed.
According to one tipster, Apple is planning to tout the imaging capabilities of the new shrunken iPhone. It’s said to be busy putting together a promo video that highlights the iPhone SE’s 4K video capturing capabilities – a feature that made its debut in the iPhone 6S.
This would seem to make it likely that the same core camera component is being used for both the iPhone SE and iPhone 6S.
It’s another sign that Apple is shooting higher with the iPhone 6S than initially expected. Early reports surrounding the device suggested a device that was closer to the iPhone 5S than the iPhone 6S.
Since then we’ve heard reports that the iPhone SE will run on the A9 CPU, which is the same chip as the iPhone 6S. Incidentally, the fact that this chip supports 4K video would also seem to support this latest rumour.

We’ve also heard that the iPhone SE (formerly known as the iPhone 5se) will come packing NFC for Apple Pay purposes, which is another more recent Apple feature.
Just about the only downer on the iPhone SE rumour front has been the reported lack of 3D Touch in the new smaller 4-inch phone.

Apple is also rumoured to launch a new full-sized iPad at the event.
