iPhone 7 leak shows three different models, one with huge change

We’re now almost certainly less than two months away from the iPhone 7 launch. Are these the handsets Apple is planning to ship?
A series of photos that seemingly depict Apple’s upcoming iPhone 7 have surfaced online. The shots were posted to China’s Weibo social media site, and showcase three prospective iPhone models due for launch later this year.
As is the case with all leaks sourced on Weibo, it’s impossible to verify the legitimacy of these images. Nevertheless, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard talk of three distinct iPhone 7 variants, so we’re not ruling this leak out entirely, nor are we particularly surprised by it.

The handsets – purported to be the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone 7 Pro – are all pictured in a champagne colour option. The iPhone 7 Pro is the only device in the trio to feature a dual-lens camera, which fits with previous speculation. It’s also clear that the external antenna banding is now less prominent on all of the handsets, which is another long-rumoured design tweak.
However, it should be noted that we’ve heard conflicting rumours about Apple’s alleged tri-iPhone launch. Prominent mobile leaker Evleaks, who has a reliable track record, claims that we’ll only see two iPhone 7 variants this year. In any case, take all such leaks with due caution.
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 7 later this year at a dedicated launch event in early September, possibly alongside a new version of the iPad Pro, or perhaps an Apple Watch 2. As usual, the Californian tech giant is keeping a tight lid on all information regarding future product launches, so we won’t know anything for certain until the event rolls around.
