iPhone 7 ‘Jet Black’ sold out? Here’s how to get it

If you were hoping to snag a new iPhone 7 in ‘Jet Black’, we’ve got bad news: it’s already sold out for immediate shipping.

Disclaimer: Due to the nature of this story, some of the information on availability may already be out-of-date by the time you read it.

The iPhone 7 has only been available to pre-order for a matter of hours, but the new ‘Jet Black’ colour option has already completely sold out on the Apple website – at least for units shipping by the September 16 release date. However, there are still some places to get your hands on one.

Apple introduced ‘Jet Black’ as an entirely new colour for the iPhone 7, with the option marked as unique by virtue of its glossy finish – the other four colours are matte, by contrast. The colour is also only available on 128GB and 256GB versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, further entrenching its exclusivity.

Unfortunately, Apple now lists the ‘Jet Black’ iPhone 7 as dispatching in “two to three weeks”. And for the iPhone 7 Plus, you’ll have to wait until November. That’s a huge delay considering the actual iPhone 7 release date is September 16.

Where can I get ‘Jet Black’ iPhone 7?

It seems to be (largely) the same sad story for carriers, too. Carphone Warehouse won’t be able to ship a ‘Jet Black’ iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus to you until October 16 – Pre-order iPhone 7 at Carphone Warehouse now

Three, meanwhile, can get a ‘Jet Black’ iPhone 7 to you by September 16, but an iPhone 7 Plus in the same colour won’t arrive until October 7 – Pre-order iPhone 7 at Three now

O2 has no stock of the iPhone 7 (128GB) in ‘Jet Black’, but says it can deliver the iPhone 7 (256GB) in ‘Jet Black’ by September 16. For the iPhone 7 Plus (128GB), there’s no stock, while delivery for the 256GB model is “up to more than six weeks”. Great… – Pre-order iPhone 7 at O2 now

Over in the US, a Reddit user is claiming that AT&T is allowing new pre-orders of the ‘Jet Black’ iPhone to go through, but is listing the option as sold out for existing customers trying to upgrade.

When the iPhone 7 officially goes on sale on September 16, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to pick up the ‘Jet Black’ option in stores. However, considering the obvious demand (or low supply, perhaps) for the ‘Jet Black’ option, we’d advise heading down to the store as soon as you can.
