The iPhone 6s will reportedly see Apple join the numerical-based specs race, with the handset tipped to feature a larger, 12-megapixel camera.
The revamped camera unit will see Apple’s next-gen smartphone closer challenge the likes of the 16-megapixel snappers adorning the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the LG G4 – on paper at least.
In reality, the iPhone 6’s existing 8-megapixel shooter already produces some of the best mobile-captured images on the market.
The latest iPhone 6s rumour comes courtesy of analyst and IHS Technology Research Director, Kevin Wang (via GforGames).
It has been suggested that Apple will finally bow to consumer pressures and increase the pixel count which has adorn its market-leading smartphone line since the iPhone 4s was introduced back in 2011.

The latest iPhone-themed rumours back up claims earlier this week that a 12-megapixel camera was on the cards for the next-gen HTC One M9 rival.
Further reports have hinted that the handset will pair the revamped snapper with new Force Touch display technology, and a faster A9 processor.
It is expected that the iPhone 6s will be formally unveiled this September, in keeping with Apple’s traditional launch cycle.
