iPhone 6 release to feature different screen sizes and colours

New iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S rumours have surfaced with latest reports suggesting Apple’s iPhone 5 follow-on will be made available in a selection of new colour schemes and varying screen size options.

Previously tipped to launch in up to “6-8 colours”, similar to the collection of hues found on the latest iPod touch, new reports courtesy of industry analysts have suggested Apple will also make the iPhone 6 available in a selection of different screen sizes in a bid to narrow the gap on smartphone rival, Android.

With the iPhone 5 launching as the first Apple smartphone to step up to a 4-inch form factor from the previous 3.5-inch standard, Brian White, an analyst at Topeka Capital, has suggested that “the next iPhone will offer customers more choice in terms of screen size.”Suggesting that a selection of screen sizes could pave the way for a cheaper, budget iPhone, White has also claimed that a larger screen iPhone could be on the cards to closer match the likes of the 4.8-inch Samsung Galaxy S3.

“Although Apple offers a 4-inch screen on the iPhone 5 and a 3.5-inch screen on the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4, the Company  has never offered multiple screen sizes for a single model,” White said. “We believe this is about to change with the next iPhone offering different screen sizes that we believe will allow Apple to better bifurcate the market and expand its reach.”

He added: “This eventually opens up the possibility for a lower-priced iPhone (i.e., iPhone mini) with a smaller screen size that could allow Apple to further penetrate markets such as China and open up opportunities in India.

“At the same time, Apple could unveil a larger screen size compared to the recently updated 4-inch screen on the iPhone 5. Clearly, there are many smartphone models that are now larger than 4 inches and even some bigger than five inches on the market.”

iPhone 6 Rumours
With a number of iPhone 6 rumours doing the rounds in recent weeks, latest reports have suggested that the eagerly awaited handset could be with us sooner than expected with White claiming that the device will “come out in the May-June time frame.”

With the iPhone 6 release date said to be nearing after the handset was reportedly spotted at Apple HQ this week running the as yet unconfirmed iOS 6 mobile operating system, leaked iPhone 6 specs have hinted at the device playing host to integrated NFC technologies and a design similar to that of the iPhone 5.

Although full iPhone 6 details are far from confirmed, it has been suggested that the next-generation pocket blower will line up with a variety of innards that did not make it into the iPhone 5 with latest reports claiming “super HD camera/screen, a better battery, and NFC” are all set to feature.
