iPhone 6 photo leaked direct from factory

A new iPhone 6 photo has leaked online, allegedly straight from the Foxconn factory floor.

Although there have been plenty of shots and videos of iPhone 6 mock-ups made from leaked schematics and more recently the sapphire crystal display panels, but until now we’ve not seen anything of the real device.

According to KitGuru, who obtained the image, this is the first shot of the actual iPhone 6 taken within the Foxconn factory.

However, as excited as we are to see the supposed real iPhone 6, we do have our reservations about the authenticity of the image.

For one, the build quality of the model in question is far from Apple’s usual standards. If you look at the power buttons, in particular the one on the right, they are wonky and protruding in a rather unfinished manner.

The mute switch is missing the signature red line to show the device is on vibrate too, which it would be if the switch is in that position.

Also, this photo doesn’t show the screen turned on at all and there’s no indication as to whether this iPhone 6 powers on at all, so it could just be yet another mock-up.

It does look exactly like the renders and dummy models we’ve seen before, which is reassuring if this is the real deal or at least direct from Apple.

The curved edges and slimline design are both there along with the Touch ID fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button.

It’s impossible to tell if any of the rumoured hardware is contained inside though, but reports suggest it will come with an Apple A8 processor, sapphire crystal display and quantum dot display technology.

Of course, it will no doubt run iOS 8 out of the box, utilising the new features that were announced at WWDC earlier this year.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 6 at a dedicated event in September, hopefully with the phone available to buy by the end of that month.
