iPhone 5C pre-orders kick off ahead of September 20 release date

iPhone 5C pre-orders have kicked into action, with Apple letting wannabe owners secure their colourful handset ahead of next week’s September 20 iPhone 5C release date.

Following the phone’s formal unveiling earlier this week, and with just seven days until the handset is available in stores, iPhone 5C pre-orders have kicked off, with all colours and storage capacities available to be snapped up ahead of launch.

While iPhone 5C pre-orders have been opened today, September 13, Apple has confirmed that it will not be offering iPhone 5S pre-orders ahead of the flagship phone’s release alongside its cheaper sibling on the 20th.

The iPhone 5C is available in five colours, with the white, red, blue, green and yellow renditions of the phone coming in either 16GB or 32GB storage capacities. While the 16GB iPhone 5C price has been set at £469, the 32GB edition will still set you back a lofty £549.

The iPhone 5C specs sheet is almost identical to that of last year’s iPhone 5, just wrapped within a new polycarbonate body.

Running the new iOS 7 operating system, the iPhone 5C features list sees a 4-inch Retina display line up alongside a dual-core A6 processor. With an 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera and a secondary snapper up front, the iPhone 5C is finished off with a claimed 10 hour battery life.
