iPhone 5C pictures: See the new plastic-bodied design
Apple has launched the iPhone 5C, the first iPhone to have a lower-cost price tag and polycarbonate body.
We’ve collected all the iPhone 5C pictures together so you can have a look at the new design for yourself.
Available in white, red, blue, green and yellow, the iPhone 5C is made from a hard-coated polycarbonate that covers a “new construction method that uses a reinforced steel structure.”
The lower-cost, plastic-bodied iPhone 5C complements the new flagship iPhone 5S, which has the same design as the iPhone 5 but comes with better specs and the same design as the iPhone 5.
The iPhone 5C also brings some iPhone 5 with it, as under the hood it’s pretty much the same beast.
It has a 4-inch Retina display and comes with a 1.9-megapixel camera, improving the 1.2-megapixel offering on the current flagship.
Apple has included a Live Camera app with the iPhone 5C, which comes complete with new Live filters and a 3x video zoom.
It has the same 1.3GHz dual-core A6 CPU as the iPhone 5, but will ship running iOS 7 straight out of the box.
“iPhone 5C is everything iPhone 5 was and more, in an all-new design packed with great features,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iPhone 5C is designed with a beautiful polycarbonate enclosure that looks and feels so solid in your hand.”
However, it will launch at a lower price point than the flagship iPhone 5S. In the UK, SIM-free, prices for the iPhone 5C start at £469 for the 16GB version, while the 32GB model will set you back £549.
The official iPhone 5C cases were also showcased during the Apple event on September 10, which are made from colourful rubber with cut-outs holes so users can see the original plastic casing colour underneath. These are shipping for £25 in the UK.
