We’re just a few hours from the iPad 3 or iPad HD launch, and the latest rumour is that the new Apple tablet will be available to buy from 16 March. That’s just nine days after launch.
Apple has not yet confirmed the iPad HD release date, but Apple rumour veteran 9to5mac writes that sources close to the iPhone-maker say the next iPad tablet will be available from 16 March. A new store will reportedly open in London on the same day – within Harrods, Knightsbridge – suggesting that the iPad HD will be available in the UK at the same time as the US. A new store is hardly going to open its doors to offer little more than gaping disappointment for rabid Apple fans.
The iPad HD is expected to launch tonight, during an event in San Francisco. Apple CEO Tim Cook will take to the stage at 6PM GMT, to let us know what we’re going to spend £400 or so on next.
Apple CEO Tim Cook will do the honours this evening
We’ll be back with full coverage during the event, so drop back for more this evening. Current rumours indicate it will have a much higher resolution screen, a more powerful processor, better cameras and – perhaps most interesting of all – advanced haptic feedback.
