iPad 5 rumours point at iPad mini style design as new pictures leak

iPad Air rumours have hit new heights as a selection of claimed iPad 5 pictures leak online, once again pointing at an iPad mini 2 styled design overhaul.

According to latest iPad 5 rumours, Apple’s next-generation 9.7-inch tablet device is set to take design hints from its recently released 7.9-inch sibling as a selection of newly leaked iPad 5 pictures emerge showing a distinctly iPad mini themed design.

The leaked iPad 5 pictures, which have reportedly seen the light of day thanks to a China-based iPad accessory maker, have added to recent iPad 5 rumours in  suggesting the next-gen tablet will line up with a black and slate colour scheme, white and silver for the lighter hued model, a slimmer brushed metal casing a chamfered edges.

One of the more persistent iPad 5 rumours, it is believed that the repeatedly tipped redesign would see Apple bring its full range of portable devices in line with the same design language with the iPad 5, iPad mini and iPhone 5 all sporting the same finishing touches.

Far from the first time claimed iPad 5 pictures have emerged pointing at a dramatic redesign that would see the iPad 4 follow-on adopt a design form factor almost identical to that of the iPad mini, last week iPad 5 pictures showed a near identical device which was claimed to be an iPad 5 prototype.

Having reportedly gone hands-on with the iPad 5 prototype, industry reporter Jeremy Horwitz claimed the iPad 4 replacement will have “virtually no left or right bezels.” He added the device hand only enough none screen real estate top and bottom to support the physical home button and a forward-facing camera.

iPad 5 Rumours
Despite Apple this week launching a new 128GB iPad 4 with Retina display, recent iPad 5 rumours have suggested the Cupertino based company will maintain a new six month product cycle for its market leading tablet, formally unveiling the iPad 5 in March alongside an iPad mini 2.

Whilst some have claimed a March arrival is likely, further iPad 5 rumours have muddied the waters, suggesting an iPad 5 release date will not be held until September, alongside the iPhone 5S.

In an expected Apple roadmap to investors, industry analyst and repeated Apple tipster Gene Munster, under the heading September 2013 stated: “we get a new iPad.” Continuing belief the iPad 5 will support an iPad mini style finish, Munster added the device will be “totally redesigned to look more like the iPhone 5 and iPad mini.”
