inCharge is a cheap, keyring-sized USB cable

Are you forever asking if anyone has the right cable so you can charge your phone? This is for you. Not only is it small enough to fit on a keyring, it’s incredibly affordable too.

It’s called inCharge, and it measures just 0.7mm fat when folded up. It also features a magnetic closure that lets you attach it to your keyring, so you’ll never be without it again. Unless you lose your keys, that is.

Not only is it small enough to fit in your pocket, it also won’t get tangled up with other cables or your keys.

You can choose either the Lightning connector version, or the one with a microUSB.

The other end is a standard USB connector, so just plug it into your computer and you can juice up your phone or tablet.

It’s very affordable too – just $9 (£6).

And it comes in eight colours: orange, lime, cyan, pink, purple, black, grey and white.

The company is also environmentally minded, as it offers the choice of buying the cable without any packaging.

It’s sailed past its funding goal on Kickstarter. Shipping will start next month.

Change is in the air in the USB world. A couple of months ago, the design was finalised on the new USB Type-C connector. It’s faster than current cables, smaller, and reversible, so you’ll never again have problems inserting it into the port.

It’s about the size of a microUSB connector, and according to its designers, is “robust enough for laptops and tablets”.
